At Ballycastle Runners AC, we’re proud to be an all-ability club. We welcome diversity and strive to create an inclusive, friendly atmosphere where everyone can enjoy running – no matter their starting point.

We know that taking the first step can feel daunting. Maybe you think you’re “not fit enough”, “too slow” or just unsure where to begin. Don’t worry – we have a space for you.

Our 9-week Couch to 5K programme begins on Monday 8 September 2025, with sessions every Monday and Thursday at 7pm, meeting at the Sheskburn Recreation Centre carpark.

Training is delivered by Athletics NI (LiRF) qualified leaders and includes:

  • A dynamic RAMP warm-up
  • A supportive walk-jog-run session
  • Cool down and static stretches

Participants are also encouraged to complete a third weekly session (as directed by group leaders), either on their own, with old friends or new (fellow Couch to 5K runners).

We’ll wrap up with a celebratory 5K graduation run at a local parkrun—likely Limepark Playing Fields – on Saturday 8 November 2025.

This course isn’t about finish times – it’s about taking that next step on your running journey, whether you’re brand new, coming back after a break, or somewhere in between.

Cost: £30, which includes full Ballycastle Runners AC membership and Athletics NI affiliation until 31 March 2026. (Our club membership normally costs £30 – so the Couch to 5K programme is essentially free!)

To register or ask questions, please email us. We’ll use WhatsApp to share session info and updates.
